Classes

The two questions that we are being asked the most are, "What are the classes?" and "How are you going to judge the cars?'" Below is an explanation of the show classes and the way the judging will take place. Participants are asked do the judging and must return their judging sheets in order to receive a dash plaque. They will also be given a raffle ticket for the portable gas BBQ when the judging sheet is returned. See the FAQ for more on judging. Click here

  1. There are basicically three Classes in each category of entry. The entry categories are grouped by model year with special categories for truck, sports car, Under Construction, Muscle car, and Rat Rod.

    The classes are:
    • Stock
    • Modified
    • Custom

  2. Cars are classified as they arrive by club personnel and the car owner according to guidlines shown below. A car may fit in multiple categories in which case the owner is asked to choose. For instance a 1967 camaro may be classified as 1955-1979 Modified or 1961-1972 Muscle car.

  3. Judging is done by car participants. Each participant is assigned a car to judge which is NOT in their own class. Classic Chevy Reno club members do not take part in the judging other than assigning the cars to be judged to a participant. Club member cars are judged separately and do not compete with the other entrants

  4. In addition to the classes we award several "Best of" trophies such as best paint, best engine, etc. We also award a best of show trophy. Judging for these trophies will be done this year by persons not associated with the show or the club. They will be selected by TKO Motorsports who are a show sponsor.
